soft tones

I've just finished these felt corsages. The combination of the lace and felt works really well with the vintage buttons and beads. I will be selling them at the Christmas show- An Artful Mix.

These old cutlery boxes are perfect for displaying them in.I've managed to collect a few of them now. I love the blue silk inside this one.

buttons, buttons and more buttons...

an inspiring trip....

A trip to London last week was the perfect way to be inspired.
First stop had to be Liberty's to check out their new haberdashery department.
I couldn't resist leaving without a little something...
so hard to choose between the prints.

Lunch at Leons and a peruse around Carnaby Street, then off to the Cloth House.

I just love the way they display their fabrics and buttons, along side vintage bits and pieces.

They always have a great window display.

I left with some blue and cream velvet, which I plan to make pin cushions with.

Well I feel inspired again........

embellished

As the nights start to draw in and the weather turns wet and windy, it's far more tempting to stay in than to venture outside. Plus I have quite a lot of sewing and stitching to do, finishing off brooches and purses to sell for Christmas.

What have you been up to?

envelope purse

When I saw this vintage paisley printed silk, I knew it was destined to be made into a purse. I love the faded tones of the purple and grey print.
As you've probably guessed I have a fondness for reclaimed fabrics, their subtle colours and worn edges add to the character of my designs, as well as being one off a kind.

An envelope purse is perfect for keeping safe precious letters, postcards and trinkets.
Here are a few of my keepsakes.
