new drawstring bag

Brrrrrrrr it's cold! The sunshine we had didn't last very
long, instead there is a flat grey sky and an icy wind that makes you want to stay wrapped up inside, but hopefully this drawstring bag will add a touch of spring to your day. The floral fabric is so cheerful, I've made a few pieces out of it, from little purses to lavender bags. This one has a vintage lace pocket on the front.
I've made a few for myself too in all different fabrics and they are a great place to keep pretty underwear or hung up storing special bits and pieces in.

Keep cosy and warm x

a trip to the palace

blenheim palace

On Sunday I visited the new Oxfordshire crafts gallery at Blenheim Palace to see my work on show along side other local artists.
The new gallery is a lovely space full of inspiring pieces, from textiles, ceramics and jewellery. I'm sure it will be a success.

We also had a wander around the grounds, which looked beautiful in the hazy afternoon sunshine. Still to early to see any spring flowers, but the box hedges and trees looked serene amongst the statues and fountains.

a lovely day

valentine flowers valentines

It's been a beautiful day here today, clear blue skies and bright warm sunshine. I woke up early and went for a run across the park grounds, then back home to do some chores around the house, before meeting my mum at the village pub for lunch. What could be better on a sunny Sunday.

Valentines flowers of Freesias and Anemones from my boyfriend and white hyacinth making the place smell lovely...xx

shop update

shop update velvet pincushion

A few little new season items for my etsy shop, I have made some more of my soft velvet and lace pincushions to sell. Take a look here.

They are a must for any craft room or sewing box to keep all your needles and pins safe while you are sewing away. I would be lost without mine.
But I also use these pincushions to keep brooches safe on my dressing table and these ones come with their own pretty vintage brooches and pins
The vintage tin I bought the other day has come in handy as a prop for these photos.I love setting up a photo shoot.

Happy Pancake day! I'm off to eat as many as I can make...yum.

french floral tin

Last Sunday my mum and I went to The Old Pill Factory in Witney, which is an amazing vintage shop full of all sorts of lovely things from homeware to jewellery. My mum bought a pretty teapot and I came home with this floral tin, I love the flower motif and it's looking great in my workroom.
The lady said it was from a clearance of a chateau in France....well how could I leave it behind.

Have you made any vintage purchases this week?

busy, busy

handmade

Hello again! Sorry I was so busy last week, I didn't have any time for my blog. It's nice to have January over with though, not one of my favourite months.

The whole house smells of lavender, I have little stacks of lavender bags tied up with ribbon, piled up in my work room.
I've been making them for various places and have some for sale in my shop too. Take a look here.

The smell really does make you feel very relaxed, I slept so well last night.

Sweet dreams...zzzzzzz
